Walkies in Minehead!

04/05/2019

Here are some photos of my dogs Bailey and Tiggs enjoying one of their favourite things, an early morning run along the beach.

Luckily I do not have a photo of their very favourite thing, a tug of war between them over a dead dogfish that they find on the beach!  A game that they love but it makes them and my car smell fishy for days.
They have enjoyed doing this since 1st October 2018 but sadly no more after 1st May 2019 when the dog beach ban, with the exception of assistance dogs, comes into effect for the summer.  There are however plenty of other great dog friendly places nearby: the beach beyond the golf course, Dunster and Blue Anchor beaches, Culvercliffe beyond the harbour and of course North Hill.

Here is a link to other dog walking places supplied by our town council: https://www.mineheadtowncouncil.co.uk/uploads/2/2/3/5/22358578/seasonal-beach-ban---leaflet.pdf.pdf

If you have any favourite places to walk your dogs please share them with us preferably with a photo of your dogs if you are happy for us to include them on our website. We are also interested in your favourite dog friendly eating places and will share some of ours in a future blog. In fact please send us any dog related things that you think may be of interest to other dog lovers.  We may not have room for all but will do our best.
I will try to persuade my boss to give a (small) prize to our favourite picture but we have a very limited budget so you may have to settle for the glory of being on our website.
Dogs are very welcome in the Information Centre so pop in and see us. I hope you have a good summer with your dogs and hope to see or hear from you soon.

Nicky, Bailey and Tiggs.
