Minehead Story Walks - Self-guided Historic Trails

As well as joining one of the professionally guided walks, there is also the opportunity to go it alone by using the dedicated Minehead Town Trail app. Download it to your smartphone and follow one of the historic trails around the town to uncover its secrets.  Some routes are suitable for buggies and wheelchairs.

HIGHER TOWN TRAIL
This climbs up to Higher Town where little has changed in a hundred years.  This route involves a steep climb so is unsuitable for pushchairs and wheelchair users.

MIDDLE TOWN TRAIL
Explore the heart of the town and find out how it was devastated by the great fire of Minehead. This route is level and well maintained so is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchair users.

QUAY TOWN TRAIL
Follow this route to find out about Minehead's maritime history.  This trail is mostly level - there are some steps which can be avoided.

THE PARKS TRAILS
These three trails follow the Bratton stream and are all level, although there is one cobbled bridge to cross on the first section.  Each takes about 45 mins.

For details of the trails, download the routes and information on your smartphone here.
