Minehead Bay is a sweeping sandy beach with small areas of pebbles and shingle.

The bay curves around from Minehead Golf Course in the east to the picturesque old harbour in the west.  The high harbour wall protects the small boats sheltering here and it's an ideal place to sit and take in the view.

You can also make the most of the sandy beach by building sand castles, playing beach games and kite flying - or just relaxing in the sun.

Dogs are allowed on the main swimming beach (between the harbour and golf course) during October to April.  There are no restrictions on dogs on other local beaches and there are plenty of alternative places for your and your dog to enjoy a walk or run.  See /109/minehead-dogs-welcome.
