Whether it’s swimming in the sea, paddleboarding or coasteering you can’t visit Minehead without dipping a toe into the Bristol Channel. There are so many water-based activities to choose from - doing something in, close to or on the water is an absolute must.
The best time to swim is when the tide is coming in (otherwise it's a long walk to the water as this coast has the second highest tidal range in the world!). For tide times see https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/coast-and-sea/tide-tables/12/532
Take care in windy weather, particularly if there is an offshore wind; if you have children using an inflatable they can easily get swept out to sea. Therefore take note of the wind socks along the beach; there is not a life guard service on Minehead beach.
